We have just spent a wonderful 4 nights at Rose Tree Campsite. The site is peaceful and relaxing and also very friendly. We were met by the Site Warden, Dave a lovely helpful man who showed us to our pitch and once we had settled in brought the necessary paperwork and take away menus! The facilities are basic but more than adequate and beautifully clean. The site is close to Sand Bay beach which is beautiful and very quiet. Weston-super-Mare is about 10 mins drive from the site and is a nice seaside town. The site is well situated for many days out with Bath, Wells, Cheddar and far too many other places to mention within an hours drive. We choose this site as we wanted to visit Cheddar Gorge, it was a fantastic day out. We found so many other things we would like to do in the area we just can’t wait to go back! Thank you Dave and Donna for such a great stay and a fantastic campsite that is a credit to all your hard work. |

Just got back this afternoon from Rose Tree Campsite where my friend and i pitched tents for three nights. What a lovely stay! For fear of everyone knowing about this hidden gem, we really must give it the rave review it deserves. Dave and Donna are such nice people and made us feel incredibly welcome, without being pushy. We chose this campsite because it is over 30s and we wanted peace and quiet, which was exactly what we got. The facilities are modest, but extremely clean and well maintained, neither of us ever had to wait for a free shower or wc. The site is ideally located for touring the area and is very close to Weston, Bristol, Bath, Somerset and the list goes on. The local beach, Sand Bay is beautiful, golden sand for miles and not a soul to be seen. I recommend you go to Rose Tree, but only if you intend to keep the peace and maintain the standards the site upholds. Donna & Dave, we’ll be calling in spring next year to book up our stay for 2012! spent 3 days at rose tree campsite, our 2nd visit, and although some things had changed it was still a relaxing peaceful break, clean and tidy campsite, great location, brilliant weather and dave and donna are friendly and helpful. on arrival i had added the outstanding balance up wrong which dave put me right by telling me this and refunded me back what i would have over paid, which impressed me straight away on their honesty, although we had only been once before they still recognised us, probably because of our dog a 10 stone bullmastiff who loves it there. thanks and see you next year. 1/8/11-4/8/11. |

We just arrived home after nearly a week at Rose Tree. We were looking for an adults campsite, that was quiet and friendly, I kept being drawn to this site, even after looking all over the place!! The reviews are good, and it sounded just like the sort of site we were after. I only phoned up the day before, but the lovely friendly voice on the other end of the line assured us that we could have a pitch, and that they would see us the next day. When we arrived, Dave, the site warden was near the gate. He showed us where to park up and set up our tent, and said he’d be back later to book us in. He came round a while later, and had a chat, booked us in and showed us where everything was. He’s a very friendly chap, who lives on the site. He’s usually around somewhere if you need him, very available, but also very unobtrusive too. We found the facilities, although quite basic, to be very clean, and well organised. The grass is kept short, with no cuttings to get everywhere. The site is secure-a combination lock on the gate keeps out unwanted visitors, which somehow makes you feel that bit safer. The bit of the park we were on (in a tent) was slightly sloping, but we got around that, and it didn’t bother us too much. The site fronts onto quite a busy road during the day, but it quietens considerably at night, so that’s not a problem. Previous comments have mentioned aircraft overhead, again, we didn’t find it was that much of an intrusion, and after a while failed to even notice them. There’s perhaps three or four a day, if that, and even then it’s not that loud. They didn’t disturb us, and I am normally the first to notice any noise!! Just a short drive from the beach at Sand Bay….a delightful little road to nowhere along the front-not busy, not commercial, just a road on the waterfront. It’s not far into Weston Super Mare though, for all the seaside stuff, and a large retail park, supermarkets, and the chippy (nice!) are just up the road too. |

We came to Rose Tree for T4 on the beach, (which as three 30-somethings is questionable in itself!) but all I can say is we had an amazing time. I have never in my life camped, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The toilet & shower facilities are pristine, the campsite hosts are lovely, and could not do enough to help. Our only apprehension was that we had read reviews that said ‘do not come here if you want to make merry’. I think this is a relative term, as that was our exact intention! We wanted to have a few drinks & reminisce (we do not see each other often), which means we can get a bit excitable… Needless to say, I will be using this camp site again, and cannot wait!!! |

I live at the coast in North Yorkshire and needed a brief stopover with my dog whilst visiting family in South Wales and North Somerset. Camping is the easy option for me for both cost and convenience, with having a dog, plus the fact I just love it! I’ve been camping or caravanning since I was a child, in a trailer tent with my husband and young family, as a single parent in a frame tent with teenagers and now as a mature lady on my own in a smaller tent I have ventured onto the continent too. You can imagine I’ve seen all sorts of campsites over the years and Rose Tree is up amongst the best, but it is not for everyone. If modern facilities, shops and entertainment is what you want this is not for you. (Though the nearest shop is within walking distance.) If you are comprehensive in what you arrive with, relish peace and quiet, and appreciate the friendliest and most helpful of welcomes you will find it here. I booked by phone at the last minute and expected to arrive about 5-6pm. In the event I had to phone ahead to say I was delayed. Donna was reassuring and helpful on the phone, told me not to worry I could arrive up to 11pm and told me where to find Dave, the site warden on arrival. I arrived about 8pm and it was nearly dark but Dave saw my headlights and came to meet me. I had booked a pitch without electricity out of habit as I’ve never bothered with it and don’t have a hook up lead. On this occasion though, I thought it might be a good idea and had thought to pack a light etc, so asked Dave if I could upgrade, but with no chance to buy a lead would he have one he could hire me? He was brill, loaned me a hookup lead at no charge, advised me what lead to buy so I could get the right thing for the future, told me where to find the dog excercise area, came back whilst I was pitching my gear to see how I was coping in the dark and told me to come and find him if I needed anything. The facilities are dated, even old-fashioned, but this is an old-fashioned site – in the nicest possible way – with old-fashioned values of service, friendliness and behaviour standards. The facilities are perfectly adequate, very clean, with no extra charge for hot showers, hand soap and loo roll provided and not too far from any of the pitches. To me there are more important things than modern – and this site has them, together with good directions, being easy to find and in a lovely setting. At present it is for over 25′s only. Dave mentioned it might be changed to over 30′s only. I’m not sure if he was joking but thankfully I’m old enough to still be allowed in! Thanks Donna and Dave for a really lovely site. I just wish I’d had more time to explore the area and get on the beach with the dog. I’ll be back to do just that! |

If you want peace and quiet and somewhere where you can truly relax and chill out, then Rose Tree is the place for you. We have just had 8 wonderful days, and most certainly will be going back. We received a very warm welcome from both Donna and Site Warden Dave. During the day we visited Weston (Dave played golf twice),the Clark’s Shopping Village and enjoyed walks with our dog along the beach and Headland at Sandbay (where you can get a Cream Tea from Grandma’s Cafe). The fish n chips at Sandbay were the best I have had in a long time, and the Carvery at the Hotel was excellent value. Altogether a brilliant holiday, we just wish we had planned to stay longer. |

We had a 3 night stay and although the weather wasnt the best the friendly faces and the helpfulness of Donna and Dave certainly made up for it. The site is lovely and clean as are the facilities(basic, but all that I needed) Would like to say a big Thank You and we will certainly be seeing you again very soon. |

The place was easy to find (for us M3/M4/M5!). It was nice to find a ‘childfree zone’, and even at the height of the season wasn’t overly busy. The facilities were fairly basic (the shower was better than at home!) and most other visitors were happy to just ‘pass the time of day’, without being in your face. |

We had a superb week here in spite of arriving in the pouring rain ,we were made very welcome. The park is very well maintained the grass clippings were collected by Dave and his mower, which is great as you dont end up with a tent full of grass. The beach nearby is dog friendly as is the park. The toilets and showers were lovely and clean a real credit to Donna. Would definately stay again. |

We have just come back from Rose Tree after a 10 night stay in our Caravan and what a lovely site to stay in , Donna who run’s it was really nice , helpful and great to get on with , we thought the site was run really nice and was very clean and tidy . The site is not far from the M5 ( about a 10 minute drive ) so this was really good for us to see more of lovely Somerset , anyway getting back to the site , the toilets were nice and clean , everyone was friendly , really quite at night and good security with the coded lock on gate . The beach is just over a mile away and even quicker in your car, but yes we will be back next year, and many years to come. Good on you and keep up the good work |

We are new to caravaning and this was only the third site we have used – but by far the best! Although the amenities were basic, they were spotless and as the site is small, we never had to queue! What we liked most about the site was how friendly and helpful Donna and her site warden, Dave, were. They helped us get our caravan into place, making certain it was level and secure. They had the time to stop and chat to us and make sure we were OK and happy with our stay and giving advice on the area. There is lots to do around the area and the cycling is great, although challenging due to the hills!! We are hoping to pitch our caravan there for a few months next year, so we will definitely be back!! |

Bryan + Jean It was jeans birthday the 5th July, so we were all set for a good time, The first person we met was Donna what a lovely helpful lady she is and what she doesn’t know about setting up a caravan and leveling it, isn’t worth knowing, Donna told us it mite be a bit noisy that weekend because the T4 festival was on, but that wasn’t going to worry us, The weather was fantastic, what peaceful and beautiful place to relax and unwind. We will definitely be going back next year for more of the same. Hope we can still get a pitch after all the good reviews that we have read. Thank You so much for looking after us while we were there. Bryan + Jean |

Everything we ever wanted and needed in a campsite is right here…..peaceful, small site, very clean and tidy shower and toilet block, very friendly fellow campers, very quiet at night and Donna is one of the most friendliest campsite owners we have seen…always has a smile. As does Dave the on-site warden…..who always seemed to be there to open the gate!! Next time we visit I shall pre-book one of the treatments from the Salon in Donna’s cottage….just to add to my perfect getaway retreat!… Cant wait to return…..many thanks Donna and Dave for a great time, we shall be back! |

Donna is more than just a fab host she is a pleasure to be around. The facilities are always clean and working. Just the little touch like a tea towel by the washing up area is such a bonus if you have rushed away and forgot to pack. i would recomend anyone to stay at rose tree i know you would love it and return again. keep up the good work |

this is the second time we have camped at rose tree cottage, we recommend this camp site as its 25years and over it is a basic site but the toilets and showers are always clean. (although we dont have a dog)dogs are welcome and their is a special walking field for them. sand bay is near. about a mile down the road is a pub called the manor inn which serves good food at a reasonable price. the site is run by donna who always has time to talk to you, alan takes good care of the site and is always around to lend you a hand. hope to go to the site again later in the year. it is a very relaxing atmosphere. |

Just stayed here for two nights and thought it was great value for money. Though the facilities are limited they are kept clean and the staff were very helpful. Site security was very good. The pub was within 10mins walk and had a brilliant meal, A good stroll down to the beach but you have to be very vigilant of the cars as it was fairly busy, don’t attempt after dusk ! We will certainly go here again. Price will vary, but starts from £10 per night w/o car, and note ex cars and electric hook ups are at an extra cost. |

This is a small site with basic facilities. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Toilets (4) and showers (2) are clean, free and well maintained. Although rural there are ample amenities close by in Kewstoke village. Within walking distance of Sand Bay where there is a frequent bus service into Weston-Super-Mare. Excellent value for money at £12 per night (£3 extra for electric hook up). Would highly recommend this site as a base for exploring the area. Ideal site for couples. |
